You can watch the Oscars and don't have to apply for a holiday the next day. How did I manage to get through one of the most exciting nights of the year? With energy balls and gallons\u00a0of matcha tea. That kept me going until 6 in the morning, when the awards for best actor and actress were given out.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>And yes! Leonardo DiCaprio has finally made it after being nominated a record 6 times. I'm a bit of Leo fan (particularly since Titanic), so that absolutely made my day. Odd fact: the orchestra didn't stop his speech, even after he had gone on for a while, like they normally do. But after six nominations and his\u00a0first win, this was more than appropriate, I think, especially because he had something very important to say to the audience - he talked about the threat of global warming and the urgency to fight it.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201eLet us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.\u201c.<\/p><span><\/span><\/blockquote>\n<p>Personally, I was also hugely impressed by Mad Max: Fury Road, which garnered awards for best costume design, production design, editing and sound editing, sound mixing as well as make up and hairstyling.\u00a0And then there was somebody I actually know: Patrick Vollrath was nominated in the category Live Action Short for the German-Austrian co-production\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.patrickvollrath.com\/\">\u201eAlles wird gut\u201c<\/a>\u00a0(Everything will be okay). It was his final project at the Vienna Film Academy and it is a touching, beautiful movie.
